Dear Friends:
Welcome back to the Sugar Creek Players website. We hope you
will come and enjoy and upcoming performance.
We continue to strive for excellence at the Vanity Theater. Some of
our work is old-fashioned maintenance, like last week’s carpet
cleaning by our friends at ServiceMaster. Other tasks are focused on
enhancing your experience in the theater. We’ve pulled together
detailed plans to upgrade our stage lighting and sound system. The
first phase of these improvements begins in the coming weeks. Though
we’d like to start these projects today, we thought that waiting until
right after our final performance of The Women might be a better idea!
Our next production, Disney’s Alice in Wonderland, Jr., opens on June
11 and will coincide with the Strawberry Festival. Reed Hepburn will
be the Artistic Director and Jennifer Peacock will be our Musical
Director and Choreographer.
Next year marks the 40th anniversary of the Sugar Creek Players. Our
acting company was founded in 1971 by a group of civic-minded
volunteers who made a lasting impact on our community. We started
with summer productions in the Ball Theater at Wabash College and
later migrated to the current building. A few of our early
participants, like Helen Milligan, are still occasionally acting on
our stage. Wow, 40 years! Time sure flies, doesn’t it?
On behalf of the Board of Directors, I thank you for your continued
patronage.
Michael Swift, President of the Board of Directors of the Sugar Creek
Players
