Nothing needs to be prepared in advance. We’ll ask about your past experience and have group readings for different roles. See the character list on this page for details. There may be some waiting, so feel free to bring something to pass the time quietly.

Actors should be available to perform in all six shows and the tech rehearsal the Sunday before opening day. Please check show dates and times at the top of this page to confirm your availability.
Rehearsals will usually be scheduled on weekday evenings and occasionally weekends. On the audition form, you will be asked to list any dates and times that you will not be available for rehearsal.
If you’d like to complete the audition form ahead of time (a great idea!), check back on this page after 10/9 for a link to the audition form PDF to print and bring with you.
Auditioning is free.
For the selected cast, there’s a $25 participation fee per person. This helps cover the show’s budget for props, set, costumes, and more. Please don’t let the participation fee be the reason you do not audition. If you get a part, and the fee is a challenge, let us know. One of our generous donors will help sponsor you anonymously.
Show t-shirts will be available for purchase by the cast, friends, and family. This is optional and not part of the participation fee. The cost will depend on the quantity ordered, usually around $15 per shirt.
Our auditions are open to everyone in the community, and no previous theater experience is required. If you are new to theater but interested in getting involved, please audition!

Grace is a bright young woman with a passion for astronomy, stuck working in her aunt’s toy store just before Christmas. Longing for adventure beyond the small world she knows, she wishes for something extraordinary, and gets far more than she imagined.
When the lights go out, Grace and her coworker Nikki find themselves in the magical Land of Forgotten Toys, where forgotten playthings and celestial wonders collide. Tasked with rescuing Santa from his wayward sister, Grace must lead an unlikely team to restore hope and rediscover the magic of belonging. Along the way, she learns that even the most “imperfect” toys (and people) can shine brightly in their own way.
GRACE, 17 years old, bright, committed, driven. Loves Astronomy but is stuck in a dead-end job at SheTOYgan.
NIKKI, 19 years old, loves Christmas, and works with Grace at SheTOYgan. A ray of sunshine personified.
SCHMEDRICK, an awkward, anxious, and scatterbrained elf. Dreams of being a repairman.
CHARLOTTE/CHARLOTTA:
Charlotte, Grace’s aunt, begrudgingly runs SheTOYgan, but dreams of giving it up for a “real career.”
Charlotta, Santa’s younger sister. Devious, cunning, and ready to make a profit on Christmas.
SANTA (and Customer, Icicle Giant, Dad), Jolly Ole Saint Nicholas himself.
QUEEN OF THE NORTHERN SKY, human embodiment of the constellation Cassiopeia. Rules over The Land of Forgotten Toys.
