Calling all young theatre lovers! The Sugar Creek Players are proud to offer a two week musical theatre camp in June 2024, directed by Jennifer Peacock and Mike Melvin. Campers will cultivate their singing, acting, and dancing skills as they learn Music Man Jr., a delightful show that features some of musical theatre’s most iconic songs and a story filled with joy, warmth, and lots of laughs! The camp will culminate in two final performances on the Vanity Theatre stage.

When not rehearsing, the campers will take exciting age-appropriate classes in acting, improvisation, music, theatrical design, and more. Campers will also have a blast with theatre games and imagination activities to round out a full day of creativity, self discovery, and fun!

Jennifer grew up in Crawfordsville, graduated from North Montgomery High School, and went on to get a degree in piano from DePauw University in 2015. Since then, Jennifer has music directed for professional regional theatres and cruise ships across the country and also served on the faculty of Penn State’s BFA musical theatre program. Mr. Melvin has recently started acting on the Vanity theater stage and his favorites include: Joseph/Dreamcoat, Arsenic & Old Lace, Legally Blonde, & Big Fish. When he is not onstage or directing, he enjoys working with the technical aspects for the Vanity productions to help the director’s vision come to life onstage. Offstage, Mr. Melvin loves to spend time with his wife, two kids, & his dog. Mr. Melvin says “Your student will love this theatre camp! Not only will they learn from many members of the community and Wabash, but they also will have fun as we bring Music Man Jr to life”
